OUR TECHNIQUE

All high quality hairdressing scissors and thinners are sharpened using the UVX Sharpening system + Ookami Gold Hone and Japanese Wet Stones.

Precision machinery and precise angle alignment will return scissors to their original bevelled or convex edge.

THE PROCESS

Scissors are inspected, disassembled and cleaned. The edges and ride line are re-honed. After honing and polishing the edges with Japanese Wet Stones to a high lustre and smoothness, the blades are reassembled. Stoppers, screws and washers are replaced (if necessary or requested). The scissors then go through a cutting test procedure, balanced, oiled and tension adjusted. Serration is also available on request.

OUR INTEGRITY

We will always be honest. We will only sharpen your scissors/blades if they need it, in fact we can show you (with a quick test before hand) whether they need sharpening or not.

We will always try out best to fix your scissor/ clipper problems, but if we cannot get them right, we will explain why and you will not be charged.

OUR SYSTEM

The EVX Sharpening System coupled with the OOkami Gold Sharpening System take care of all Scissors and Thinners whether Japanese style Convex Edge or German Style Bevel Edge We can sharpen them all. These systems are designed specifically for today’s modern scissors and Thinners. Clipper blades are sharpened on the worlds most advanced clipper sharping machine, guaranteeing perfect results every time.

The above systems remove the absolute minimum amount of metal in order to give your scissors/blades the sharpest edge possible.

KEY FEATURES

The EVX system uses a series of diamond coated wheels which replicate perfectly any convex edge. The Ookami Gold System uses a diamond impregnated wheel that can replicate either Convex or bevel edged scissors or thinners. We then use The finest Japanese Honing Wheels to make those edges razor sharp, finally the Ookami Ultra fine polishing block where all (stainless steel) scissors have their inside edge polished to a mirror finish and given razor like edges.
